Lost – The Package

This episode showed us more about the lives of Jin and Sun after Oceanic 815 landed in LA. Apparently they aren’t married and Sun’s father hired Martin Keamy to “pop him.” Back on the island, Sun avoids joining Smoke Monster John but bumps her head and can no longer speak English. Meanwhile Richard wants to destroy the plane so Smoke Monster John cannot escape.
To me, this was just another episode, not too much was revealed. I did have some inspiring predictions though. Of course I was proven wrong again, but that’s why I watch!
I wonder what Smoke Monster John meant when he said that he was 3 people shy of getting off the island. If he manages to get those 3 people, what would he do? Would he kill them? Does he need them to bargain for his escape? I’m not really sure, I’m guessing there’d be no bargaining – who would he bargain with? Jacob’s dead. Smoke Monster John let Claire know that he needs her and Kate; they obviously both fit into his plan.
Watching Richard and Sun exchange words was great, Richard was so funny when he asked why she wasn’t speaking English. As the scene was playing out I felt Sun’s frustration. If I was her, I would have written something in the sand to get my point across. I’m not sure why she didn’t do that. Oh yeah, maybe I do…sometimes characters on the island don’t act like normal people would!
Just before the mystery person was revealed to us, I was convinced that I had the answer. Widmore showed Jin a digital camera that had pictures of his daughter and says that he knows what it’s like to be apart. I thought for sure that the “package” was going to be Jin’s daughter. She could be the Kwon that’s on Jacob’s list! Unfortunately, I was proven wrong and the package was in fact Desmond. How he fits into this, I’m not sure. I hope we get the chance to learn more in the next episode.
